Deswik is growing and has created a new Solution Architect position in our Software Development team, reporting to the Head of Software.
  
Initially, you will be working on integrating a web application (Deswik.OPS), mobile applications (Deswik.APPS), and another commercial application. These apps also have integrations with direct data feeds from mining equipment and centralised data repositories. More broadly, you’ll develop architecture principles and standards for all our software product teams.

What You’ll Do

• Work on application integration strategies, internal systems architectures and designs for Deswik applications
• Communicate recommendations clearly to decision makers and development teams
• Evaluate deployment models 
• Collaborate and influence architecture design principles for a complex data integration
• Establish and maintain technical standards for use by development teams
• Enable factoring of common functionality into software assets that can be shared between applications and teams
• Investigate and recommend third party tools and technologies that we can use to make product development more efficient and effective
• Consider interoperability, security, supportability, operability, testability, maintainability in architectures and designs
• Document the architecture of our products
• Create and maintain roadmaps and plans for architectural initiative
• Collaborate with a team of hard-working, friendly engineers who care about what they do

Preferred Technical Skills  
  
We are looking for a skilled Solution Architect who has commercial experience designing the architecture of complex software products.
  
You should be adaptable to different technical environments, but we use the following sorts of technologies and techniques in our work:

• C#, ASP.Net, .NET Core
• Mobile Application Development in Xamarin Forms, Xamarin Native or Native Frameworks (Kotlin, Swift) for both iOS and Android
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (AJAX, JSON, etc) & Typescript
• SQL Server and some use of ORM (Entity Framework or similar)
• Knowledge of modern front end JavaScript Frameworks
• Automated Testing techniques and Frameworks (Ranorex, JMeter, Postman, NUnit)

About You:

• Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
• Able to communicate recommendations clearly and unambiguously to technical teams and senior leadership
• Commercial experience designing the architecture of complex software products and data environments
• Deep technical knowledge of software architectural techniques and designs
• Experience evaluating deployment models  
• Familiarity with technologies that underpin large enterprise applications
• Skilled in data modelling and database design
• Commitment to code quality and maintainability
• Capable of working in a cross-functional team of friendly and skilled software engineers 
• Experience in a product-based environment with a customer-centric culture.
