Our culture code

Our culture code is at the heart of everything we do. This code was developed with everyone’s input, across all job types and offices. It isn’t just something made up and handed down by management. As we grow, we remain committed to protecting our culture across the globe.

Our story

In the early 2000s, three uni friends set out to address the need for better planning and scheduling software in the mining industry. The result was Mine24D. It was hugely successful and was bought by a competitor after only 6 years.

In 2008, our founders expanded their vision and created Deswik Software.

Deswik doubled in size every year for its first five years, during the biggest ever mining downturn and global financial crisis.

Our first two products, Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched shipped in 2009. While better than competitor’s offerings for both mine planning and scheduling, it was the deep integration between design and scheduling – a feature not available in any other products at the time – that proved to be a hit with customers.


12 years on, Deswik has experienced year on year growth. Deswik is now the software choice for over 200 companies in over 300 different operations. We have over 290 staff across 13 offices globally. In the past two years alone, we hired 74 people to join us on this awesome ride.

Since 2015, Deswik employees have participated in a yearly Gallup Q12 survey – a world renowned indicator of employee engagement, as used by many leading FORTUNE 500 companies.

This year, we scored a ‘world class’ rating, outranking 96% of organisations globally… and we’re pretty proud of it!
