Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a phone interview.

Phone interview

Our HR team or the hiring manager will be in contact to discuss your CV, work experience and expectations. This should take around 10 minutes.

If it sounds like a match, we will invite you to an in-person interview.

Face to face interview

You will meet with your potential managers.

We will share more about the role and ask you questions about your experience. We are looking for strong technical knowledge and how your personality and values will fit in with our team and culture.

Only successful candidates will be invited to complete testing.

Testing

All candidates will complete cognitive and behavioural testing. Technical tests are also a requirement for some roles.

Only successful candidates will progress to the next stage of the process. For some roles, this is the Technical Interview, for others this is the Reference Checks.

Technical interview

The technical interview is only applicable to certain roles – usually those within our software development team.

You will get the opportunity to meet some of your potential teammates and showcase your skills with a real-world technical problem-solving activity.

Reference checks

If you pass the Testing / Technical Interview, we will conduct reference checks with two recent professional referees.

You will be notified before your referees are contacted.

We will begin preparing an offer, pending successful completion of reference checks.

Deswik aims to respond to all candidates within a reasonable timeframe. Please note, due to the high volume of applications we receive, it may take several weeks to receive correspondence regarding the outcome of your application.

What can I do to strengthen my application?

Applications which include a cover letter will be viewed more favourably. Students and recent graduates can include a copy of their academic transcript.

We are committed to supporting the community around us. Deswik has a dedicated ‘giving back’ committee who organise charity events and fundraising throughout the year. Recent charitable initiatives include: Drought Angels, Indonesian earthquake relief and World Vision. In addition, we are committed to supporting the next generation of STEM professionals through our partnerships with various universities and the Austmine Women in STEM program.
