We are looking for a Payroll and Financial Accountant to join our team in this newly created role - you will spend 40% of your time processing 2 end to end payroll processes for our Australian employees with the balance on Financial Accounting. 

About the Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Payroll Processing: Manage and process fortnightly and monthly payrolls efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely payments and reporting whilst maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices and employee expense claims using in-house CRM software alongside other commercial applications, ensuring internal controls and delegations of authorities are always adhered to.
  • Order to Cash: Provide commercial support to the sales and consulting teams, from reviewing and processing customer purchase orders, through to issuing sales invoices and maintaining timely receipt of customer payments.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Assist with month-end reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
  • Month-End Accounting: Prepare month-end calculations and journals where required.
  • Inter-Company Trade Account Management: Oversee and manage trade accounts with subsidiaries to ensure accurate inter-company transactions, reconciliations, and related party reporting.
  • Treasury Operations: Perform daily bank reconciliations, transacting with multiple currencies, managing corporate credit cards, and processing weekly payment runs.
  • Support Group Finance: Provide support to the group finance function as required.
About You
Set yourself apart from the rest by demonstrating your:
  • Demonstrated experience processing end-to-end payroll for a complex medium-large business with 250+ employees. 
  • Australian employment legislation knowledge as it applies to payroll.
  • Financial accounting knowledge, specifically AP/AR tasks, invoicing and processing customer invoices and maintaining payment; bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Experience with ADP Payroll and Xero or similar systems would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and focused on quality
  • Excellent people skills
  • Keen awareness of confidentiality and experience dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities
  • An eye for detail and the ability to isolate problems and offer effective solutions
  • A desire to work in a relaxed social environment which is equally demanding of a high standard of work
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce or a relevant discipline. Working towards your CA/CPA.
